We have a release date on the anthology

As some of you know, I recently wrote a story for The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2. It was neat because I read all kinds of vampire books, but had never tried writing one.

My editor, Trisha, sent the cover over yesterday. I had to smile because the vampire on the front looks a lot like the heroine in my story, Princess Katarina Volholme D’ Transylvania, an eight-hundred-and-seventy three-year-old vampire who decides to rebel. Too bad for her, she does it on International Undead TV.

And get this – the release date is October 31, 2009. How fun is that?

It’s a great story! It is too much fun. I completely loved it, and I know everyone else will too.

  3. Angie Fox Says:

Awww…thanks! Yes, I love the story. It’s titled Love Bites, but I may not get to keep that title because I heard yesterday that they may name the UK version of the book Love Bites. We’ll see.

The idea for Love Bites came when I was sick in bed with the flu. I was staring up at the ceiling, thinking – and you know how dangerous that can be. Anyhow, the opening amused me too much and I had to get it down right away.

Meanwhile here comes my husband up to our room, juice in hand, thinking he’s going to be nursing me and I’m sitting up in bed, pounding out the opening scene on my laptop.

Jim was like, “I thought you were sick.”

According to him, I said, “I am sick. Go away.”

I’m sure I said it nicer than that, but anyway. It was one of those writing moments that you just have to seize and go with.

And then I sent Jess (my critique partner) only half the story because I couldn’t wait for her to see the beginning. Dorky? Yes. But it was fun too. 🙂
