The Accidental Demon Slayer is a NY Times Bestseller!
August 12, 2008
So I’m in the middle of a great writing session on Friday when the phone rings. I almost, almost ignore it. After all, who in their right mind would call smack dab in the middle of a demon invasion?
Luckily, I answered because it was my agent with great news – The Accidental Demon Slayer is #34 on the NY Times Bestseller list! Blew my mind. Heck, I’d just wanted readers to like the series enough to keep me up to my eyeballs in demon slayers, biker witches and talking dogs.
Thank you to those of you who’ve read the book, to the booksellers who have recommended The Accidental Demon Slayer to their customers – and especially to the readers who have emailed. You really have made my week.

Thanks everyone!
And, Danette, is it bad that I’m taking a perverse pleasure in keeping you up all night? So many authors have done that to me over the years. π
Great to hear from you, Michele. That was a fun dinner. And you can bet I’m answering my phone these days.

Well, if you like keeping folks up all night, you’ll love me… I work 3rd shift, and boy oh boy did your book keep my happily turning pages every night until there were no more! I loved laughing at Pirate’s puppy enthusiasm, worrying about everything with Lizzie, then emerging in the end… well, I don’t want to be a spoiler here, so I’ll stop and say to anyone who hasn’t read it yet, go get it now! Thanks for an incredibly fun read; I can’t wait for more. Congratulations on your first book, hopefully the first of many!

Hey Angie, this is Judy from Brentwood Forest! ;o) Actually, it’s Dan (aka Jepetto’s keeper). I sent you an email last week, but was afraid your “barracuda spam eater” might’ve taken a bite out of it. I was excited to hear about your accomplishment!

Thanks, Brenna! Pirate is a kick to write. He definitely has his opinions (even if they do tend to lean towards fettuccine and motorcycle rides).
And it’s great to hear from you, Dan!

Congratulations, Angie!! That’s fantastic news!! =)

Congratulations!! I loved the book and the characters. Only problem was not knowing when the next book was coming out so I can put it on my wish list. Are you working on another series or are you just concentrating on this one before you tackle another series?

Thanks, Nette! This is the start of a series. The second book is called The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers. In it, Lizzie decides she’s going to master her powers once and for all, and write the book on demon slaying. Naturally, things don’t quite go according to plan. It will be out in April ’09.

I have read a lot of paranormal books through the years and I must say this is one of the best! It has all elements that make a great read: humor, danger, and a wonderful romance!!
I have turned my friends to this book and we all can’t wait for the next book!!
Thanks!

Great Book!!!! I’m always looking for new author’s and I got really lucky finding you! Read this one in one night; just couldn’t put it down. So perfectly right, I’ll be expecting to see this as a television series for the WB or FOX!
Keep ’em coming!!!!

Hey Angie,
Congratulations! You know I’ve been cheering from the corner of the ring this whole time. It is such a fun story and I’m not at all surprised that people love it.

Sorry I missed the name contest; I just read your book, yesterday & today, after blogging with Pirate (and you) on Bitten by Books. (I won one of the contest, too, soooo cool!)
I took the name quiz, anyway….
My biker witch name is Fast Frankie Flat Foot.
I also posted a link to your page on my Facebook page, today. I lvoed the book. Pretty snazzy the next one is in April, too; my birthday happens to be in April….
I’m co-manager of books at Books-A-Million in Panama City, FL, and I will be recommending your book to my paranormal fans, or my name’s not Fast Frankie, umm, I mean Justine. ;0)
Really, it was a great read. I loved the characters, the humor…it was like riding a demon infested roller coaster ride. Fast, freaky & fun!
Justine (and Tani, the wonder pup, who has a crush on Pirate)

Wow! You rocked!! I am a die hard reader and have read your book twice and still lol on both occations. I got to say it, the griffin thing just worked, the jars, so creative. I caught my nine year old trying to read it because I laughed and smiled sooo much. Looking foward to a long series I hope. Best of luck to you. oh by the way an eldery woman pointed out your book to me, as I was looking for a new vampire. She suggested yours after reading the cover we both bought it. UUMMM where did she get those BOOTS:)

Your book is awesome. I bought it as a lark, thinking I’d never get around to reading it (the cover is what grabbed me). I can’t stop reading! I’ve posted it on my blog and I tell all my friends about it. Looking forward to the next one, and hoping you have continued success with this one! Great characters, hot romance, fast paranormal action, and I just love the dog.
